The exciting third installment of the Day Zero Series
Lightning Luke lived past Day Zero, the day he was appointed to die. As a result, he faded from the world in such a way that he may as well be a ghost. Even to his wife, Gina.
Until… Fate lands Gina right in the crosshairs of the Angel of Death and her own Day Zero. Death is a formidable foe.
Especially when he has helpers.
A killing crew has been hired to take Gina out for being a witness – showing up in the wrong place at the wrong time. Suddenly, Gina can see Luke again after three years of believing he’s dead. Their reunion has an expiration date. They could have forever together, if only he can keep her alive for the next 24 hours.
Whether it’s life or death, it’s irreversible.
The countdown of her eternity has begun.

What readers are saying
BJ Hyman has managed to do it again! Once again, BJ Hyman has managed to bring back the strange and desolate immortals who have lived past their "Day Zero" with "Lightning: The Book of Luke and Gina." It is fast-paced, but still makes time for a compelling story of Luke and Gina and their steadfast love for each other. Their choices are potentially heart-breaking ... As Lightning Luke's story isn't enough, Hyman fills you in on what is going on with the unbelievable malevolent Reuben and introduces you to yet another villain with a strange and twisted agenda - enter Gable. The tension mounts all the way to the end and leaves you anxious for the next book, but while still leaving you with a satisfying story in the meantime! I give it a thumbs up!
BJ Hyman has a way of spinning multiple narratives and, admittedly, at times I have trouble keeping up with who's who. That does not take away from the experience of reading her books. The pace of her storytelling is brisk but it never seems rushed. Before long you are immersed in the characters and the plot line. I was truly surprised and disappointed when I came to the last page of the book. I did not want the story to end which, fortunately, it will not, as she explores the characters in upcoming novels.
I could not put this one down. I stayed up way too late because I had to know what was going to happen. It definitely makes you want the follow up to be published NOW! :-) I got very attached to the characters with all of their imperfections.

About BJ Hyman
BJ Hyman lives in Mississippi with her commercial producer husband, their 25 year old turtle, and two crazy dogs. If she isn’t binge watching Netflix for so long that it asks if she’s still watching (which she finds terribly judgmental for a streaming video service), she’s frequently on Facebook searching out cute animal videos and telling her husband she needs said animals. Follow her on Instagram for glimpses into her weird and wonderful life and her love of pop culture. @thatstorygirl If you meet her in person, feel free to call her Betty Jo. You’ll look like you’re “in the know.”
